Exhibition Opening: “Madeline Yale Wynne and the Arts and Crafts Movement”
Saturday, April 15, Historic Deerfield Flynt Center and PVMA Memorial Hall Museum

This exhibit and programming is a joint venture of Historic Deerfield and PVMA. The "Arts and Crafts Movement" was an international trend in the decorative and fine arts that flourished in Europe and North America between about 1880 and 1920. Deerfield was home to a distinctive expression of the movement in which artisans created exquisite Colonial-inspired needlework as well as rugs, basketry, pottery, metalwork, furniture, and weavings. A 1903 article in Gustav Stickley’s "The Craftsman" declared that “Deerfield is sending all over the country beautiful things… to bring back something of lost poetry to the earth.” Come and see for yourself.
